Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the AirlineCV web application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AirlineCV.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

2. Description of the Service

AirlineCV is an online CV builder designed specifically for airline pilots. The Service allows users to:

  • Create professional pilot CVs using specialized templates designed for aviation recruitment
  • Enter and manage pilot-specific information such as licence details, type ratings, flight hours, medical certificates, and ELP levels
  • Automatically match CV styling to specific airline brand identities
  • Generate AI-powered suggestions and cover letters using artificial intelligence
  • Download completed CVs as high-quality PDF documents
  • Store CV data locally on the user's device and optionally synchronize it across devices via an account

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free.

3. Account Creation and Security

To access certain features of the Service (including paid features, data synchronization, and cover letter generation), you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your password and restrict access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately at contact@airlinecv.com of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is being used fraudulently.

4. User Obligations

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not use the Service to create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive CVs or documents
  • Ensure that all information you enter into your CV is accurate and truthful
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our computer systems or networks
  • Not interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Not use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without our prior written consent
  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without authorization
  • Not upload any content that contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including aviation authority requirements regarding the accuracy of qualifications presented in your CV

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information you include in your CV. AirlineCV does not verify pilot licences, type ratings, flight hours, or any other qualifications you enter. Misrepresentation of qualifications to airlines is your sole responsibility and may violate aviation regulations.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including but not limited to its design, code, templates, layout, graphics, logos, icons, and underlying technology, is the exclusive property of AirlineCV and is protected by French and international intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret law.

The AirlineCV name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of AirlineCV. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

5.2 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the personal information and content you enter into the Service (your CV data, profile information, photographs, etc.). By using the Service, you grant AirlineCV a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when you delete your account or the relevant content.

5.3 Generated Documents

CVs and cover letters generated through the Service are for your personal, professional use. The templates and layout designs remain the property of AirlineCV, but you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use downloaded PDF documents for job applications and professional purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the templates themselves.

6. AI-Generated Content

Certain features of the Service use artificial intelligence (powered by the Anthropic API) to generate suggestions, text, and cover letters. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content is provided as a suggestion and starting point only. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before use.
  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. AirlineCV makes no warranties regarding the quality or accuracy of AI output.
  • You should not rely on AI-generated content without verifying its accuracy, particularly regarding factual claims about your qualifications and experience.
  • Use of AI features requires sending relevant CV data to third-party AI services (Anthropic). By using these features, you consent to this data transfer as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • AirlineCV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, job opportunities, or goodwill, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.
  • AirlineCV shall not be liable for any damages arising from the content of your CV, including but not limited to claims resulting from inaccurate information, unsuccessful job applications, or any consequences of submitting a CV generated through the Service.
  • AirlineCV shall not be liable for any loss of data stored in your browser's IndexedDB, including through browser updates, cache clearing, or device changes.
  • AirlineCV shall not be liable for errors, interruptions, or security breaches affecting the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to AirlineCV in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AirlineCV, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (d) any content you provide through the Service, including claims of inaccurate or misleading qualifications.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
  • Any data stored on our servers will be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law
  • Data stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB will remain on your device unless you choose to clear it
  • Active subscriptions will not be renewed, but no refund will be issued for the remaining portion of the current billing period unless required by law

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at contact@airlinecv.com or through the account settings in the Service.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payment processing) and Anthropic (AI features). Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. AirlineCV is not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AirlineCV does not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

AirlineCV does not guarantee that using the Service will result in job interviews or employment. The Service is a tool for creating CVs, and the outcome of any job application depends on many factors outside our control.

12. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part or feature thereof) at any time, with or without notice. This includes adding or removing templates, changing features, updating pricing, or modifying functionality. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the consumer protection law of your country of residence. In addition, you may submit a dispute to the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, shall be severed from these Terms. The invalidity of any provision shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Terms of Sale, and Legal Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and AirlineCV regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, and agreements, whether oral or written.
